About Emerson

Hi y’all. I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW, license #I.2002146) and psychotherapist practicing in the state of Ohio.

I like to share with potential clients that I am a queer transmasculine person. There aren’t many of us trans therapists out there, and I believe sharing this can provide a sense of solidarity.

I earned my Bachelors degree in Social Work at The Ohio State University and my Masters degree in Social Administration (MSSA, equivalent to MSW) at Case Western Reserve University.

I founded Authentic Pride Therapy with the dream of actualizing a space of collective resilience—where transgender, queer, and other individuals who identify as part of a gender, sexual, or relationship structure minority can find pride in the radical act of embracing their authentic selves despite heavy odds.
